On 29 July, 2025, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education (HCMUTE) and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) strengthened their partnership by co-hosting a dynamic STEM programme titled "Innovators of Tomorrow: Discover STEM Minds in Ho Chi Minh City".

The event aimed to address the growing global need for skilled professionals in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) by inspiring and equipping young minds with the knowledge and skills for future success in this field.

The day leading up to the event began with a warm welcome for the UTM delegation. The Malaysian students received a comprehensive campus tour and attended a presentation on "Drone Applications for Smart Agriculture", delivered by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Xuan Ba from HCMUTE's Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (FEEE).

The high point of this collaboration was the interactive STEM workshop, which brought together over 130 high school students from Nguyen Huu Huan High School, Thu Duc High School, Victory International Education, and the children of HCMUTE faculty. In a rich, multicultural environment, participants were guided by volunteers from UTM and UTE to engage with four learning modules: Friction, Pressure, Bridge, and Robotics. On top of building a foundational understanding and passion for STEM, this event also provided the students with an invaluable opportunity to develop their critical thinking, creativity, and teamwork skills.

The workshop concluded with closing remarks by Mr. Pham Bach Duong and Dr. Willibeth C. Candol, who celebrated the day's success and highlighted a vision for international collaboration between UTM and HCMUTE in the future.
