Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education (HCMUTE) recently held a meeting with a delegation from WooSong University (WSU), one of South Korea's leading educational systems.

The foundation for this promising collaboration was built upon a shared vision for technology-driven education. The WSU delegation highlighted its pioneering initiatives, including the fully online "IDegree" program, the immersive "Metaverse Campus" designed to foster cross-cultural interaction, and an advanced AI-powered lecture translation service, which resonated strongly with HCMUTE's own strategic direction.

Throughout the session, discussions on potential avenues of collaboration were robust. Both sides agree that an important first step would be developing new channels for the exchange programs of students and faculty members between the two institutions. While summer intensive programs and summer camp hosted by HCMUTE would be a point of great interest for students of WSU’s international schools. In return, HCMUTE’s faculty would also gain beneficial experience by joining the intensive online platform designed by WSU for the purpose of global educational outreach.

Both institutions also aligned flexible academic pathways by delivering collaborative programs from the bachelor's to the master's and PhD levels, backed by WSU’s strong commitment to providing job-seeking assistance in Korea, which in turn is supported by government incentives. Moreover, they provided attractive scholarship policies for international students, offering up to a 70% tuition deduction.
Finally, WSU proposed the funding of an Innovation Lab in one of HCMUTE’s campuses, which, in the future, will act as a campus within a campus, further solidifying WSU and HCMUTE collaboration.

To make these prospects a reality, both universities agreed to move forward with the process of signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), building a solid legal foundation for a successful and long-lasting collaboration. This official partnership will herald many opportunities to come for both HCMUTE and WSU.
