On the afternoon of 22 July 2026, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Engineering (HCM-UTE) welcomed a delegation from National Ilan University (NIU), Taiwan for a working session to discuss opportunities for academic collaboration and research development between the two institutions.

During the meeting, NIU introduced the university’s postgraduate education system, international programmes, and research strengths, particularly in Engineering, Food Science, Life Science, and Intelligent & Sustainable Engineering. The delegation also shared NIU's interdisciplinary research capabilities and international academic environment.

Both universities held in-depth discussions on potential areas of collaboration, including:
- Joint research projects and co-authored publications in Scopus- and SCI-indexed journals;
- Faculty and student exchange programs;
- Research internships and participation in international conferences;
- Joint supervision of master's and doctoral students;
- Development of dual-degree programs and English-language curriculum collaborations;
- Scholarship opportunities and tuition waivers for graduate students participating in collaborative programs.

The meeting concluded with both institutions reaffirming their shared commitment to strengthening long-term cooperation through academic exchange, collaborative research, graduate co-supervision, dual-degree programmes, and other joint academic initiatives, laying a solid foundation for future partnership.
