Ho Chi Minh City, July 15, 2025 – Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education (HCMUTE) was honored to host a distinguished delegation from the University at Buffalo (UB), a research-intensive public university and one of the flagship institutions of the State University of New York (SUNY) system.

The delegation from the University at Buffalo shared their inspiring vision and outstanding capabilities as a premier research university. We were particularly impressed by UB’s leadership in cutting-edge fields. The groundbreaking Empire AI initiative—a $400 million New York State consortium housed at UB—represents a monumental leap in artificial intelligence research, education, and societal applications.

The discussions solidified a clear roadmap for mutual cooperation. A cornerstone of this collaboration will be the establishment of dynamic student and faculty mobility programs. These initiatives, including a unique capstone project exchange, are designed to foster deep cross-cultural competence and provide our communities with invaluable international experiences. Moreover, our partnership will extend to the co-development of innovative educational models and the sharing of best practices in teaching methodologies to enhance the learning experience for all students.

The meeting concluded with positive discussions regarding the development of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to build a sustainable and long-term collaboration. Both parties are enthusiastic about leveraging this partnership to pave the way for a new era of shared innovation and academic excellence. We are excited about the opportunities that lie ahead.
