On 23 September 2025, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education (HCMUTE) warmly welcomed a delegation from Adelaide University for a meeting at the university’s Central Building. The visit created a valuable platform for both institutions to share their academic strengths, exchange ideas, and discuss new directions for collaboration in education and research.
The meeting began with an introduction from the Director of the Office of International Affairs, who presented an overview of HCMUTE’s history, training models, academic programs, and international cooperation through a comprehensive video and presentation. This provided the Adelaide delegation with insights into HCMUTE’s role as a leading technical university in Vietnam, with a strong focus on innovation and global engagement.
In turn, Adelaide University representatives introduced their institution, emphasizing its research strengths, diverse academic programs, and global initiatives. A particular highlight of the presentation was the university’s new “Adelaide Attainment Model,” designed to enhance student learning outcomes, support employability, and align education with the evolving demands of industry and society.
The discussion covered a wide range of potential collaboration. Both universities expressed interest in student and staff exchanges, co-supervised research projects with financial support, visiting professorships, and the organization of joint conferences and workshops. HCMUTE also showcased its existing joint programs, strong record of scientific conferences, and research initiatives in areas such as engineering, technology, and applied sciences, which could serve as a strong foundation for future joint activities.
The session concluded with an exchange of gifts and a group photo, symbolizing the goodwill and mutual respect between the two institutions. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to building a long-term partnership that will expand opportunities for students and faculty, strengthen academic and research collaboration, and contribute to the advancement of higher education in both Vietnam and Australia.
