On Tuesday, 12 May 2026, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education (HCM-UTE) was honoured to welcome representatives from ECAM LaSalle, France; Kasetsart University Sriracha Campus (KUSRC), Thailand; and the Institute of Technology of Cambodia (ITC), Cambodia.

The meeting focused on strengthening the long-standing friendship and strategic partnership between ECAM and HCM-UTE, while also preparing for the signing of a Tripartite Memorandum of Understanding between ECAM, HCM-UTE, and KUSRC.

During the discussion, President Didier Desplanches of ECAM LaSalle emphasised the institution’s belief that students are the best ambassadors of international programmes. He also highlighted that meaningful university partnerships should create lasting value for the wider community.

In response, Mr. Pham Bach Duong, Director of the Office of International Affairs at HCM-UTE, stressed the importance of stronger collaboration among universities, businesses, and national stakeholders to support initiatives that provide students with greater academic and professional opportunities.

Since December 2025, both universities have continued to align their vision and mission, with a shared commitment to becoming strategic partners. HCM-UTE also announced plans to develop double-degree pathways and launch its first pilot English-taught Master’s programmes in collaboration with ECAM.

In addition, both institutions explored opportunities to jointly develop and implement imported academic programmes at HCM-UTE with support from ECAM, particularly in high-demand fields such as Mechatronic Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, and Embedded Systems — areas that continue to attract significant attention across Europe.

The meeting also opened discussions on establishing an Institute of Franco-Vietnamese Cooperation, as well as expanding student and staff mobility opportunities. President Didier Desplanches further proposed future connections between the HCM-UTE Faculty of Graphic Arts and Media and regional partners, including potential collaboration with LaSalle Singapore in printing technology.

The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to advancing practical, student-centred international cooperation and creating impactful educational opportunities for both institutions and the broader global community.
