On the morning of September 21, 2026, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Engineering (HCM-UTE) had the pleasure of welcoming a distinguished senior delegation from Adelaide University (Australia) to discuss bilateral academic collaboration, high-impact research initiatives, and student mobility opportunities.

*** Key strategic areas of cooperation explored during the meeting included:
- Integrated Academic Articulation & Postgraduate Pathways: Both institutions engaged in constructive dialogue regarding the establishment of a "1+1" Master’s articulation model and seamless progression pathways from Bachelor’s degrees through Master of Research to Ph.D. programmes, specifically prioritising Engineering, Data Science, Biotechnology, and Food Science.
- Experiential Pilot Programmes: HCM-UTE proposed a concrete pilot initiative enabling engineering and science students to undertake hands-on practical training and research attachments at Adelaide University, complemented by reciprocal academic credit recognition.
- Mobility, Research Fellowships & Financial Support: The leadership discussed viable frameworks for inbound and outbound student exchanges, alongside reciprocal six-month research attachments for scholars. Both sides committed to exploring targeted scholarship schemes and accommodation assistance to facilitate academic mobility.
- Innovation Ecosystems & Spin-out Development: Drawing on Adelaide University’s established expertise in research commercialisation, both delegations exchanged strategic insights on building university-backed spin-outs, securing competitive grants and private investment, and integrating accelerator programmes to empower emerging technologies.

*** Following the bilateral leadership meeting, a Joint Information Session for Students was successfully convened, drawing enthusiastic participation from prospective candidates and students across relevant faculties. The session placed a dedicated focus on:
- Academic Programme Portfolios: Introducing Adelaide University's flagship disciplines and comprehensive academic offerings in science, technology, and engineering.
- International Transfer & Overseas Pathways: Providing direct guidance on admission criteria, credit recognition mechanisms, and study routes—including the proposed articulation and postgraduate pathways.
- Scholarship Schemes & Practical Consultation: Outlining merit-based scholarships, financial support mechanisms, and essential visa considerations to equip students with actionable preparation for their global academic journeys.
