On 16 April 2026, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Engineering (HCM-UTE) was pleased to welcome representatives from Blekinge Institute of Technology (BTH), Sweden, for a productive discussion on future academic collaboration opportunities between the two institutions.

During the meeting, both sides explored the development of Bachelor’s and Master’s articulation programmes, particularly in the fields of Software Engineering, Computer Science, and emerging interdisciplinary areas such as FinTech. Discussions also covered potential collaboration models, including 2+2 Bachelor’s pathways, 1+1 Master’s programmes, student mobility, visiting professors, joint research supervision, and future ERASMUS+ initiatives.

HCM-UTE highly appreciated the presence of Dr. Vanja Lindberg, Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Internationalisation at BTH, as well as Prof. Hans-Jürgen Zepernick, Professor of Radio Communications. During the meeting, Prof. Zepernick warmly shared stories and experiences from his time teaching Vietnamese students, reflecting the longstanding educational connections and mutual understanding between Vietnam and Sweden.

The meeting concluded on a positive note, with both HCM-UTE and BTH expressing strong interest in advancing toward a formal partnership through future program mapping, pilot student exchanges, and the signing of an MOU as the next step toward long-term collaboration. Following the discussions, representatives from both institutions also participated in a campus tour at HCM-UTE, further strengthening mutual understanding and institutional ties.
