On 15 January 2026, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Engineering (HCM-UTE) was honoured to welcome a distinguished delegation from Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) and the Consulate General of Malaysia in Ho Chi Minh City. This visit marks a significant milestone in our journey of internationalisation, especially as we have just officially transitioned to our new identity as a leading institution in Technology and Engineering.

The meeting focused on strategic pillars that will benefit students and faculty from both institutions:
🚀 Semiconductor & IC Design: Recognising UniMAP’s strength in Malaysia’s semiconductor industry, both sides discussed intensive training programmes in microelectronics and integrated circuit design to meet global industrial demands.
✈️ Student & Staff Mobility: We are working toward seamless exchange programmes, short-term study tours, and faculty collaborations to enhance the international academic experience.
💼 Industry-Linked Internships: Developing hands-on internship opportunities through industry partners, ensuring our students gain practical skills in high-tech environments.
🎓 Advanced Academic Programs: Exploring the potential for dual-degree programmes and joint research supervision for PhD candidates.

The presence of the Consulate General of Malaysia underscores the importance of this bilateral relationship, bridging the gap between education and diplomatic cooperation between our two nations. The session concluded with a campus tour and a shared commitment to finalise an official MOU/MOA within the first half of 2026. This partnership promises to open new doors for innovation and global career paths for HCM-UTE students.
We look forward to a fruitful and sustainable collaboration with UniMAP! 🤝🌟
