Two students from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Engineering (HCM-UTE) have successfully completed the Formosa Talent Internship Program (Formosa TIP) – Spring 2026 at National Formosa University (NFU), Taiwan, marking another meaningful milestone in HCM-UTE's commitment to providing students with international learning and research opportunities.

During the five-month program, the students engaged in an intensive academic journey that combined coursework, laboratory research, and international collaboration. In addition to specialized courses in Information Management, Reading and Writing of Technical Thesis, Machine Learning and Big Data Analysis, and Mandarin Chinese, they also conducted research in NFU laboratories under the supervision of faculty members.

One of the research highlights focused on applying machine learning algorithms to estimate the State of Health (SOH) of lithium-ion batteries using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy data. Through data preprocessing, model development, hyperparameter optimization, and performance evaluation, the project demonstrated the potential of ensemble learning methods such as Random Forest and XGBoost in improving battery health prediction accuracy, providing valuable experience in data-driven engineering research.

Beyond academic achievements, the program offered students valuable opportunities to develop independence, strengthen intercultural communication skills, and collaborate with professors and peers from different countries in an English-speaking research environment. Through laboratory activities, cultural exchange programs, and visits to various destinations across Taiwan, the students broadened their global perspectives while gaining a deeper appreciation for international collaboration and innovation.

The Formosa Talent Internship Program has provided HCM-UTE students with not only advanced academic knowledge and research experience but also the confidence and global competencies needed to thrive in an increasingly interconnected world. These experiences reflect HCM-UTE's ongoing commitment to internationalization and to preparing graduates who are ready to contribute to the global workforce.

👏 Congratulations to our students on successfully completing the program! We wish them continued success in their academic and professional journeys.
