On the morning of October 27, 2025, the Opening Ceremony of the training program titled “Greening Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET)” took place at Room F1-608, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education (HCMUTE). The programme is co-organised by SEAMEO VOCTECH (Brunei) and HCMUTE.

The training programme aims to enhance awareness and understanding of sustainable development, green economy, and related industries, while strengthening the capacity of administrators and lecturers in the field of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in terms of teaching methods, curriculum development, and implementation of green-orientated training programmes. In addition, the course contributes to the realisation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4), which promotes vocational education associated with environmental protection and sustainable economic growth.

After 5 days of effective learning, the programme equipped participants with foundational knowledge, skills, and new perspectives on greening and sustainable development. It served as a significant opportunity for HCMUTE and regional TVET institutions to expand networks, aiming to build a green, innovative, and responsible educational environment, contributing to high-quality human resources development for Ho Chi Minh City and Vietnam. The programme also reinforced HCMUTE’s pioneering role in international cooperation, promoting innovation in vocational education, and supporting SEAMEO VOCTECH’s strategy of advancing TVET capacity in the region.

The ceremony aimed to summarise the outcomes, evaluate the training effectiveness, and acknowledge the dedication and serious learning spirit of the participating lecturers. Throughout the programme, participants were equipped with a comprehensive system of knowledge and skills on green-orientated vocational education through five intensive modules, along with a practical study visit to College of Technology II to enhance hands-on experience.
