On Monday, 1 June 2026, HCM-UTE had the pleasure of welcoming the first group of exchange students from Mindanao State University – General Santos (MSU-GSC). Twelve students from the university’s English Department arrived in Vietnam just this week to take part in the “Southeast Asia Peer Learning Program”, an initiative designed to strengthen academic collaboration and foster meaningful cultural connections between universities of Vietnam and the Philippines.

This visit also marks the beginning of a five-year partnership between HCM-UTE and MSU-GSC, with many more student exchanges to come in the years ahead. Both institutes agreed that while the “Southeast Asia Peer Learning Program” places a strong emphasis on student-focused activities such as internships, student-level collaborative research, and academic exchanges, participants should also get to enjoy a rounded and culturally immersive experience featuring extracurricular activities, such as traditional sports, artistic performances, and visits to historical and cultural landmarks of each countries.
We wish the MSU-GSC students a rewarding and memorable experience in Vietnam and hope they build lasting friendships with their peers, host families, and instructors throughout their stay.
