In the rapidly evolving landscape of modern higher education, staying ahead of technological advancements and innovative pedagogical methods is more crucial than ever. With the aim of elevating teaching quality and proactively adapting to the rise of Artificial Intelligence, the Office of International Affairs (OIA) at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Engineering (HCM-UTE), in close collaboration with Kühne Logistics University (KLU), Germany, successfully organized the specialized training workshop: "Current Trends in Teaching and Learning". The event, which took place from July 8th to July 9th, 2026, attracted active participation from the university's academic boards, department heads, and passionate lecturers.  

Over two intensive and highly interactive days, the workshop provided our educators with invaluable insights under the expert guidance of Ms. Danielle Suzanne Thibodeau from KLU, Germany. The program delivered deep dives into two comprehensive modules:  
- Module 1: Rethinking Teaching & Course Design (July 8): Lecturers explored contemporary global trends in higher education, focusing heavily on learner-centered and competency-based teaching methodologies. Participants actively practiced the principles of Constructive Alignment to seamlessly link learning outcomes with instructional activities. A major highlight was exploring how to integrate AI tools directly into course syllabi to enhance student engagement.  
- Module 2: Assessment, Feedback, and Artificial Intelligence (July 9): The second day dove into the profound impacts of AI on academic integrity and the authenticity of student assessments. Under the speaker's guidance, lecturers collaborated to design alternative, robust assessment tools that address AI challenges while maximizing real student development. Effective feedback strategies and pedagogical reflection were also emphasized to enhance overall learning quality. 

Thanks to the highly practical design of the workshop, every attending lecturer successfully developed at least one concrete "teaching artefact"—such as a newly adjusted syllabus structure or a redesigned assessment plan—ready to be implemented immediately in their upcoming classes. The event concluded on a high note with a closing ceremony where official certificates were proudly awarded to the participants.

The "Current Trends in Teaching and Learning" workshop was a resounding success, marking another significant milestone in HCM-UTE’s journey toward international cooperation and educational innovation.
