HCM-UTE Student Experiences One Month in Japan through GO JAPAN 2026 (21/08/2026)

A student from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Engineering (HCM-UTE) had the opportunity to spend one month in Japan through GO JAPAN 2026, gaining practical experience in studying, working, and living in Japan.

During the program, the student had the opportunity to intern at FPT Japan Holdings, where they were exposed to a real-world business environment, software development processes, and the automotive sector. The experience provided a practical perspective on work and professional practices in a Japanese corporate environment.

Alongside the internship, the student attended Japanese language classes with native teachers at FPT Japanese Language School. The program also included extracurricular activities such as watching fireworks and learning to prepare traditional Japanese dishes, providing opportunities to use Japanese in everyday communication.

The one-month experience also offered an opportunity to experience daily life in Japan. The student used the railway system every day to travel to classes, the internship, and different destinations around Tokyo. Through these experiences, the student became familiar with the organization and punctuality of Japan’s public transportation system, as well as aspects of everyday life such as public etiquette, queuing culture, communication, and customer service.

Beyond modern life in Tokyo, the student also visited Enoshima and Kamakura, experiencing quieter spaces and natural surroundings. The combination of a modern city, peaceful residential areas, and nature was among the memorable aspects of the experience in Japan.

After one month in Japan, the student gained further practical experience in work, study, daily life, and Japanese culture. The experience also provided an opportunity to reflect on existing knowledge, identify areas for further development, and gain further direction for the future.
